ABOUT ROMANs

What are ROMANs?

It’s not perfect, but there’s something endearing about it.

ROMANs is a pop art brand created by Giorgio Saulini, an artist based in Rome, Italy.
His colorful and approachable style embeds philosophical questions such as "What is a human?" and "What is life?"
With a mysterious charm that seeks to deeply understand one's own existence while moving and provoking thought in the viewer, ROMANs is humanistic art that draws you in before you even realize it.

THE WORLD OF ROMANS

fictional world

Humanity, with a pop sensibility.

ROMANs' works are cute and humorous, yet beneath that surface lie deep questions about humanity and society.
The feelings and stories that arise will surely differ from person to person. The world of ROMANs' art leaves a sense of free space, inviting viewers to enjoy even those differences.
At first glance, they are pop and fun. But as you gaze at them, you find yourself thinking just a little bit about your own self.
ROMANs depicts the mysterious charm of that "humanity."

The inherited lineage of art

The Saulini family is a dynasty of artists with a multi-generational legacy in the arts.

The second and third generations, Tommaso and Luigi, were prominent cameo engravers active in Rome starting in the early 1800s.
At the height of their career, they served as artists by appointment to the British Royal Family under Queen Victoria,
and their works are housed in major museums around the world, including the British Museum in London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York,
and the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg.

The seventh generation to inherit this artistic lineage is Giorgio Saulini.
