New Shiroman art released!

First, what is "Shiroman"?

Shiroman is ROMANs' art character modeled after Amakusa Shiro.

Many of you may know Amakusa Shiro, but to briefly introduce him, he was a teenage boy who led the rebel forces as the supreme commander during the Shimabara-Amakusa Rebellion in the early Edo period, when villagers and Christians, oppressed by their feudal lord, rose up en masse.

Although this rebellion failed and Amakusa Shiro died in battle, his valiant figure is still remembered and known by many people beyond Amakusa.

Shiroman is this legendary figure, Amakusa Shiro, reimagined by an Italian Roman artist, crossing the sea.

About the character Shiroman

Although Amakusa Shiro has been newly depicted in Italy as ROMANs, what kind of being is Shiroman as a ROMAN?

The official guide states the following:

"A young ROMANs boy with a strong sense of justice, always ready to fight for someone,
he believes it's his mission, but in reality, it's just a pigeon that's been on his hand for who knows how long making him think that way.
He himself still wants to be doted on by his parents.

He leads the other ROMANs, but if he lets go of his cross, he immediately becomes depressed and gives up everything, cowering.
In such cases, the pigeon usually scolds him while feeding him his favorite Amakusa champon and fried kuruma shrimp tempura, skillfully using a carrot and stick to get him back on his feet.

He's often at the mercy of his fellow ROMANs and frequently fails to achieve his goals, but he doesn't seem to mind it at all.
He feels a bond with his somewhat useless companions, and even though some ROMANs are hard to reason with, he treats everyone with affection.

Despite appearances, he's actually quite picky."

He's a very endearing character.

New Shiroman Art

The way they gather with such a subtle distance between them is surreal, seemingly representing the complex relationship between Shiroman and his companions.

At first glance, the ROMANs world seems flashy, but this work allows us to imagine the somewhat silly daily lives of these characters.
